It listens before it decides
Names and tags only shortlist the pairs. Then it listens to both copies. Only pairs it has listened to can be cleared.
It hears the track inside the music video
It pulls the audio out of the video and compares it with your MP3, so the pair shows up even when nothing written on the two files agrees.
Before anything is cleared, it checks your cues
If the copy you keep has no cue points, the other copy's cues move onto it first. If clearing would lose a saved loop, the pair is held back. Two videos are never cleared on sound alone.
What a clear does
- The copy you keep takes the cleared copy's place in every regular crate that held it.
- Your Serato library is backed up and checked first.
- The cleared file goes to your Mac's Trash, and Undo puts it back while it's still there.
